So, you’ve been bitten by the travel bug and now you’re googling “cheap tropical vacations” at 2 AM instead of sleeping like a responsible adult. And guess what pops up like a sunny dream? Indonesia. Land of palm trees, infinity pools, epic volcanoes, underwater turtles, and thick, Instagrammable smoothies.
But before you start stuffing your suitcase with sunscreen and snacks (just in case), let’s talk numbers: how much does a trip to Indonesia actually cost for Indian tourists?
Grab your calculator (or just keep reading because I’ve done the math for you), and let’s break down your budget!

Let’s start with the biggie: getting there. Most Indian travelers fly into Denpasar, Bali, usually from major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, or Bangalore. There are no direct flights (unless you’re manifesting one), so expect a layover - usually in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, or Bangkok.
Budget airlines like AirAsia and Scoot can get you there for ₹20–25k if you book early and travel light.
If you're flying during peak season (think December or June), expect to shell out ₹30–35k or more.
Want a cushier flight with a meal and a half-decent nap? You're looking at the ₹35k+ club.
Tip: Set a flight alert and stalk those prices like your crush’s Insta feed. Flexibility = savings.

Indonesia LOVES options. You can live that luxe life or go full backpacker mode. Either way, there’s a bed (and probably a palm tree) waiting for you.
Hostels & budget hotels: ₹1,000–₹2,000/night (hello, dorm rooms and free Wi-Fi)
Mid-range hotels & villas: ₹2,500–₹4,000/night (private pool alert)
Luxury resorts: ₹5,000–₹10,000+/night (treat yourself if your bank account says yes)
For a 7-day trip (with a stay close to the city centres), you’re looking at around ₹10,000–₹30,000 depending on your vibe.

The food in Indonesia is a blessing for Indian travelers. Think Nasi Goreng, Mie Goreng, satay skewers, gado-gado, and enough peanut sauce to make your soul sing.
Local warungs (small eateries): ₹100–₹300 per meal (approx. 40,000 IDR)
Cute cafés/restaurants and beach clubs: ₹400–₹800 per meal (approx. 1,15,000 IDR)
Desi travel hack: Vegetarian? No problem! Just say “No daging, no ayam, no ikan” (no meat, no chicken, no fish) and smile. You’ll be sorted.

Getting around Indonesia is mostly scooters, Grab (like Uber), or cute little boats when you’re island-hopping.
Scooter rentals: ₹300–₹500/day (60000 - 100000 IDR) (fuel’s extra but cheap)
Private drivers/taxis: ₹500–₹1,000 per ride (100000 - 200000 IDR)
Island-hopping boats: ₹500–₹2,000 depending on where you're headed (like Bali → Gili, etc.)
If you're hopping 1–2 islands and doing a bit of exploring, ₹3,000–₹4,000 is a good estimate per person.

From temple tours to waterfall chasing, snorkeling with turtles to swinging over rice terraces like a forest goddess - Indonesia’s got Indian explorers covered.
Snorkeling trips: ₹3,000–₹5,000
Waterfalls, temples, swings: ₹100–₹500 per spot
Scuba diving: ₹3,000–₹5,000 (worth every rupee)
Spa day: ₹800–₹1,500 (and yes, you deserve it)
Set aside ₹5,000–₹10,000 if you want to really get the most out of your vacay (without major FOMO).
