The tropical paradise of Seychelles, with its pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush greenery, is a dream destination for many Indian travelers. The good news is, getting to Seychelles is relatively hassle-free as no visa is required to enter the country. However, there are important details to consider before embarking on your trip. Here's a complete guide to ensure you’re well-prepared for your Seychellois adventure.

People from all countries do not need a visa to visit Seychelles. However, they must meet certain requirements to be granted entry. Instead of a visa, you will be issued a Visitor’s Permit upon arrival.
The Visitor’s Permit is granted for a period of up to 3 months on arrival at the airport. The permit is issued free of charge.

While Indian citizens enjoy visa-free access to Seychelles, there are some essential requirements you must fulfill to ensure a smooth entry process:
Valid passport: Your passport should be valid for the entire duration of your stay in Seychelles.
Two passport-sized photographs
Return or onward ticket: You must show proof of a return or onward travel ticket.
Accommodation: Provide evidence of confirmed accommodation bookings (hotel, resort, guesthouse, or other).
Sufficient funds: Proof of funds to cover your stay, which generally means around USD 150 per day (approx. INR 13,000). This can be shown through bank statements, credit cards, or prepaid travel cards.
Health requirements: Ensure you meet the latest health protocols, which may include a travel insurance policy.

Upon arriving at Seychelles International Airport on the island of Mahé, the immigration authorities will check your required documents. Then, upon their discretion, the Visitor’s Permit is stamped in your passport. The successful completion of these checks allows you to enjoy your stay in the country without the need for a formal visa.
It is recommended to obtain comprehensive travel insurance before visiting Seychelles. While not mandatory, travel insurance offers protection against unexpected events like medical emergencies, flight cancellations, and lost luggage. Given the hefty cost of healthcare on the island, it's wise to ensure you have a policy that covers medical and accident-related expenses.
Always check official resources for the most up-to-date health guidelines and requirements.

If you fall in love with the island and wish to extend your stay, you can apply for an extension of the Visitor’s Permit. The permit can be extended for an additional 90 days (for up to a year). However, there is a fee for each extension after the initial 90-day period.
Application process: You can apply for an extension at the Seychelles Immigration Office in Victoria, Mahé.
Extension fees: After the first three months, you will be charged SCR 5,000 (Seychelles Rupee) for each three-month extension.
Seychelles is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit depends on your interests:
April-May & October-November: Ideal for calm seas and warm weather, great for swimming, snorkeling, and diving.
June-August: Cooler, with trade winds offering a comfortable climate, ideal for trekking and other outdoor activities including sightseeing.

Direct flights from India to Seychelles are available from major cities like Mumbai and New Delhi. Airlines like Air Seychelles and Etihad Airways offer regular flights, making it easy for Indian travelers to reach the island.
Seychelles has a reliable transportation system, including buses, taxis, and ferries that can take you between islands:
Buses: A budget-friendly option to explore the main island of Mahé.
Car rentals: Renting a car is a convenient way to explore at your own pace. Be sure to have an international driving permit.
Ferries: Ferries operate between the main islands of Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue for easy inter-island travel.
Cuisine: While Seychellois cuisine is seafood-heavy, Indian restaurants and vegetarian options are available in major areas (due to the minority Indo-Seychellois population).
Currency: The official currency is the Seychellois Rupee (SCR). However, major hotels and businesses accept credit cards and foreign currencies like USD and EUR.
