Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) has secured the top position as the world's most punctual airport for three consecutive months, followed by Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad, India in the third spot, according to Cirium, a global aviation data and analytics company.
KIA achieved on-time departure rates of 87.51% in July, 89.66% in August, and 88.51% in September. This is a significant achievement for KIA, as it is one of the busiest airports in India, handling over 30 million passengers each year.
The airport's on-time performance is a testament to its commitment to operational efficiency and passenger satisfaction.
KIA's recognition as the world's most punctual airport is a matter of pride for the city of Bengaluru and the entire country of India. It is also a testament to the growing importance of Indian aviation on the global stage.
Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has also been recognized for its punctuality, ranking third on Cirium's list of the world's most punctual airports. RGIA achieved an on-time departure rate of 90.43% in March 2023, the highest of any airport in the world.
RGIA's achievement is even more impressive considering that it is a relatively new airport, having opened in 2008. The airport has attributed its success to a number of factors.
KIA and HYD’s on-time performance has a number of benefits for passengers and airlines alike.
For passengers, on-time departures mean less missed flights, less stress, and more time to enjoy their travel experience. For airlines, on-time performance means improved operational efficiency, reduced costs, and increased customer satisfaction.
