New Delhi – In a bid to curb the growing trend of dangerous social media stunts on railway tracks and trains, the Indian Railway Board has instructed all zones to adopt a zero-tolerance policy and file FIRs against violators. This directive follows a series of incidents where individuals risked their lives to create videos for social media platforms.
A recent case in Rajasthan highlighted the alarming risks. A man attempted a reckless stunt by driving an SUV on railway tracks between Kanakpura and Dhanakya stations. A potential disaster was narrowly avoided when a freight train’s loco pilot stopped the train after spotting the vehicle stuck on the tracks. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) promptly registered a case against the individual.
Instances like this have led to stricter measures, with both the RPF and Government Railway Police (GRP) tasked to enforce safety rules more rigorously. Several individuals have already faced legal action for shooting videos on tracks, endangering themselves and others.

The railway authorities emphasized the importance of prioritizing safety over social media clout and warned of severe consequences for those found violating the rules. With this crackdown, the railways aim to deter life-threatening behaviors and ensure safer travel for all.
